Our Story

Hello! My name is Jenessa. I am finishing up my last semester at BYU with my cute husband and we couldn't be more excited to each put on that cap and gown. This past summer I interned with a refugee non-profit in Washington. I helped run a school readiness program for 30 refugee children who recently resettled in Seattle with their families. I loved the days I spent with those kids. This hands on experience taught me two things: refugees are in need of help from ALL of us and everyone (no matter where they are from) loves cookies.

Now that my internship is over and I'm back at school, I find myself wishing I could continue to help. So I'm going to help and so can you!

Donate to RefugePoint through my page and you'll find a plate of delicious chocolate chip cookies show up at your door on a following Sunday afternoon. With every batch, I'm going to try a new recipe to get a bit closer to finding the world's best chocolate chip cookie recipe. If you don't happen to live near Provo, don't cry! You can still donate and I'll email you the recipe I end up loving the most instead.

The recommended donation is 5 dollars. Please donate by September 10th. Thank you so much!
