Our Story

(IMPORTANT UPADATE!  I have added a Say Cheese for Refugees part 2, please click here to read about this exciting new cause!!!)

HI, I’m Saydi and like you, I’m a busy lady. My days seem to be impossibly packed and just when I think I’m starting to get a grip there’s that mountain of unfolded laundry. When I stop to take a breath it's easy to see that all my busy-ness is rooted in the "problem" of having a life full of good things. Full of family and work and relationships and blessings. And I can’t help but think about millions of people around the world whose lives are void of so many of the things that I take for granted every day.

Lately I’ve been especially tugged by the plight of the world’s refugees. It's hard to worry too much about laundry piling up when there are so many in the world who have been driven from their homes and families in search of basic safety.

Please join me in trying to make a small dent in the world’s suffering by donating to RefugePoint, a stellar nonprofit helping the world’s most vulnerable find true refuge and rebuild their lives in permanent, safe locations.

Here’s how it's gonna work:

If you’re close to a location listed below make a donation and come to have your child’s portrait taken – or have me take a new headshot to use for work or social media.

If you’re not local (or if you’re not available/interested in a mini portrait session) then make a donation of any amount and as a thank you I’ll send you my top ten tips to taking fantastic portraits.

Photo session locations/dates –

Boston: Saturday, May 7, 3-6pm – Wellesley College

NYC: Saturday, April 23rd, 9-11am – Central Park

London: Friday, May 13th, 9-11am – Location TBD

$50 Minimum Donation per mini portrait ($30 per additional family member/extra slot) includes:

- 15 min individual portrait session

- 5 edited full res JPEG’s to use/print as you like

- That great feeling that you’ve done something good for the world

Please email me if you’re interested in reserving a slot during one of the photo sessions. saydria@gmail.com

I'd be thrilled if you'd consider making a donation (of any amount) even if you can't make it to a photo shoot. Not only will you contribute to helping refugees, you'll be well on your way to creating your own pro portraits!
